Grilled Portuguese sardines
Smoky grilled Portuguese sardines marinated with garlic, paprika and rosemary—charred outside and juicy inside, perfect served with a squeeze of lemon.

- 8 pcs sardines
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 pcs garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 0.5 pcs lemon
- 4 pcs rosemary sprigs
- 1 pcs red chilli
Directions
- Combine olive oil, garlic, paprika, half a lemon (juice), rosemary, red chilli and seasoning in a bowl.
- Pour marinade into a baking dish, add sardines and toss to coat, cover and chill for a few hours.
- Heat a BBQ or griddle pan until hot.
- Cook sardines 4–5 minutes per side until caramelised and charred.
- Place on a serving plate, drizzle with a little more olive oil, sprinkle extra paprika and squeeze over lemon wedges.
