0.5 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 pcs eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1.25 cup milk
Maple sauce
1.5 cup maple syrup
1.5 cup brown sugar
1.5 cup single cream
0.3333333333 cup butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 13x9 inch pan.
In a large bowl beat 0.5 cup butter and 1 cup sugar with an electric mixer until light.
Add 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla extract and mix until combined.
In another bowl whisk together 2 cups flour and 1 tsp baking powder.
Alternate adding the flour mixture and 1.25 cups milk to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
Pour batter into the prepared pan.
For the maple sauce, in a large saucepan bring 1.5 cups maple syrup, 1.5 cups brown sugar, 1.5 cups single cream and 0.3333333333 cup butter to a boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat and simmer gently about 2 minutes until slightly reduced.
Pour the hot sauce gently over the batter in the pan.
Bake about 35 minutes or until top is light brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
