Roti John

A flavorful Malaysian-style Roti John: spiced minced beef and onions bound with eggs, grilled with baguette and finished with mayo for a tasty handheld sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 0.1134 kg minced beef
  • 1 pcs onion
  • 3 pcs eggs
  • 1 tbsp chilli (chili powder or chopped chili)
  • 0.5 pcs baguette
  • salt
  • pepper
  • mayonnaise (for topping)

Directions

  • Mix minced beef, chopped onion, eggs, chilli, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  • Heat a pan or griddle with a little vegetable oil.
  • Pour the mixture onto the pan and place a piece of open-faced baguette on top.
  • Press on the bread with a spatula and grill for about 2 minutes.
  • Turn the bread over to make it a little crispy and cook through.
  • Remove from pan and add mayonnaise and/or sambal if desired.
  • Cut the bread into small portions and serve warm.
