Strawberries Romanoff

A classic Russian dessert of macerated strawberries in liqueur topped with a light sweetened cream — bright, boozy and indulgent.

  • 0.94 l strawberries
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 0.25 cup grand marnier
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup sour cream

Directions

  • Hull and quarter the strawberries and place in a medium bowl.
  • Add sugar and Grand Marnier to the berries, stir to combine, cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours, stirring once or twice.
  • Just before serving, beat cold heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold in sour cream with a spatula until just blended.
  • Stir the strawberries and divide between 6 serving glasses or bowls, spooning some syrup over berries if desired.
  • Top each serving with the sweetened cream and serve immediately or chill and enjoy within 2 hours.
