Ingredients
dough
450 g flour
55 g caster sugar
2 pcs yeast (fresh or instant)
0.5 tsp salt
170.1 ml milk (for dough)
2 pcs eggs (beaten)
30 g butter (for dough)
filling
140 g walnuts (ground)
85 g butter (for filling)
85 g brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
glaze
milk (for glazing)
icing sugar (for dusting)
Directions
Mix all dough ingredients together and knead well.
Cover dough and let rise until doubled in size, about 2 hours.
Knock back dough and knead lightly.
Divide dough into two equal pieces and roll each into an oblong about 12in by 8in.
Mix filling ingredients and spread evenly over each dough piece.
Roll each oblong tightly into a 12in sausage.
Place the two rolls side by side on a greased baking sheet, cover and leave to rise about 40 minutes.
Heat oven to 200°C (425°F).
Bake 30–35 minutes until risen and golden brown and sounding hollow when tapped on the base.
Brush hot bread top with milk and sift a generous covering of icing sugar over the top.
